About Us
The Hamilton Mill Hammerheads is the swim team that is supported by the Hamilton Mill hometown. We are a recreational team that participates in the Gwinnett County Swim League. Our team is about 28 years old, and we enjoy watching our swimmers aged 4-18 grow in to the sport and participate for many summers.
Our team has placed in the top 10 in Gwinnett County for more than 10 years.
Our team practices and has home meets at the Lakeview pool located at the intersection of Hog Mountain Rd. and Hamilton Mill Parkway.

Team History
2024:
5 dual meets (3 meets at Lakeview, 2 away meets)
213 total swimmers, second season allowing nonresidents to swim on the team
Almost 70 Hamilton Mill swimmers qualified for County Championships – the most we’ve had to date! The team placed 7th out of 40 teams.
Celebrated Head Coach Amy Smith’s 10th season with the team.
Coach Amy was also nominated for league Coach of the Year.
2025:
5 dual meets (3 meets at Lakeview, 2 away meets)
229 total swimmers - one of the largest in the team's history (if not the largest)
Third season allowing nonresidents to swim on the team
75 Hamilton Mill swimmers qualified for County Championships – the most we’ve had to date! The team placed 7th out of 39 teams. We had quite a few top 10 finishes, with new team records in boys 7-8 backstroke, women’s 15-18 50 fly and women’s 15-18 medley relay.
Head Coach Amy Smith was nominated for league Coach of the Year.
2026:
5 dual meets (3 meets at Lakeview, 2 away meets)
209 swimmers
Fourth season allowing nonresidents to swim on the team.
We celebrated Assistant Coach Joni Graves's 10th season with the team!
72 Hamilton Mill swimmers qualified for the County Championships. The team placed 5th out of 39 teams. We had quite a few top 10 finishes - Gabe Shiflett, Bryson Aleman, Mack Irwin, Cameron Beal, Autumn Gray, Finley Scruggs, Mark Avram, Gabbi Washington, Tucker Dzihic, Nate Bollier, Lingfei Zhang, Daniela Washington, and Matteo Gasparini.
We had many relays with super strong finishes in the top 10: 8U boys free, 8U girls medley, 9/10 boys free and medley, 11/12 girls and boys free and medley, 13/14 girls free and boys free and medley, and 15-18 girls medley and boys free.
We had many new team records this season:
Tucker Dzihic: 11/12 Boys 50 Back
Mack Irwin: 13/14 Boys 50 Back, 100 free, and 50 fly
Nate Bollier: 11/12 Boys 100 IM and 50 fly
Gabe Shiflett: 15-18 Mens breast
Boys 200 Free Relay. Tucker Dzihic, Wade Scruggs, Matteo Gasparini, and Nate Bollier
